Feed your smorgasbord!
Time and time again, people in business are told to ‘find their niche’, I’m here to liberate you from that idea. I’m here to call bullshit. For people who are what the modern world terms neurodiverse, have high intellect or possess what the yoga world calls excess rajas (energy of action), the very concept of choosing a monocultural career life, can be akin to being put in a cage.
If your mind explodes with colours, ideas, enthusiasm for life, if you want to devour the full smorgasbord of life’s possibilities and apply your very best to everything you do, allowing yourself to flourish like a wild garden luscious with diversity, then fucking go for it. For some people, a singular focus is the best thing for their mental health, it suits their cognitive atmosphere but if you have immense interest in many things, if you have sustainable vitality to back up your own creative interest, that allows you to not flitter from one thing to the next but to put your roots down in many different soils and blossom here there and everywhere, if that feeds you and you can offer people who seek you out a smorgasbord of ways to participate with the fullness of your skills, then feed that.
To ensure you bloom rather than burn out in this way of being in the world and in your business, be relentlessly enthusiastic about fantastic sleep routines, great food, excellent company, kind intentions, adequate rest time and lots of time outdoors.
