‘Lissie Turner Presents…’
A podcast about everyday, extraordinary people; of fucking it up and fixing it up, triumphs and tragedies and everything inbetween; the big juicy stuff and the small poetries that make up human life.
These are the stories rarely heard, the ones that go to the question beyond the answer. The candid, generous sharing that lets you know, that you are not alone.
LTP dissects ordinary events to find the brilliant and extraordinary events to find the relatability, in a kind and purposeful way.
This new series shines a light on the humanity of everyone; to propagate compassion, to inspire individuality, to entertain, to make you laugh, cry, grow, change, lessen judgement and smash apart the old shitty paradigms that make us all suffer.

Dissolving Patterns and Filling the Void with Lissie Turner
In this episode I talk with yoga therapist Lissie Turner who in her previous very high profile life as radio presenter for JJJ Mel In The Morning aka Mel Bampton was an extreme party girl. We talk about becoming a better parent, partying with Pharrell Williams, Jack Black. Drug overdoses, living up to your profile, and stepping in to your new way of being.
For 3 years Lissie Turner was the host of drive along with Charlie Pickering as ‘Mel in the Morning’. During this time Lissie had the immense privilege of breaking bread with many of the Gods and monsters of modern music – Radiohead, REM, Mike Patton, Lou Reed, Blondie, The White Stripes and Grandmaster Flash to name but a few - and behind the scenes her love of yoga keeping her swimming during many heady years of music industry mayhem.
“Working with Lissie was one of the best experiences of my professional career. Her positivity, creativity and support weren’t just a joy to be around, they taught me about making the most of every opportunity and enjoying the time you have with the great people you work with.”
“In my career as a host of “Roots n All’ on Triple j, Lissie was my hero. To this day I regard her as Australia’s best broadcaster: funny, Intelligent and very cool under pressure. I’ve since been lucky enough to call her my Media Manager for several album campaigns. Again, she is the best in this field I know! By far! To say she has a way with words is an understatement. She has the ability to take what someone does and put it in the best possible context, whilst never resorting to bending the truth. She just ‘gets it’ and translates it to the intended audience.”
